Lahore Qalandars Previews

The runner-up team of the previous edition of the PSL T20 Lahore Qalandars, had a kick start to this season six of Pakistan Super League and won their opening contest against Peshawar Zalmi with a handsome margin of four wickets. We mentioned earlier that the key strength of Lahore Qalandars is their bowling unit. Even Haris Rauf and Dilbar Hussain were not available for the first match but nobody missed them. Shaheen Afridi, Rashid Khan, and David Wiese filled their place completely. They leaked just 140 runs in their inning of 20 overs. Shaheen Afridi picked three while Salman Mirza had two wickets to his name and David Wiese picked one wicket. Rashid Khan failed to pick any wicket but he was the most economical bowler from their side who leaked just 14 singles in his four overs bowled out.
We observed that the batting order of Lahore Qalandars was struggling even they chased the target of 141 runs in 18.3 overs. No batsmen from the top-order of the Qalandars could put some big runs on the board. Mohammad Hafeez remained the highest run-scorer with 33 runs to his name. He faced 26 deliveries and smashed five boundaries. He remained not out till the chase of the target. Like in the bowling, Rashid Khan proved himself in the batting also. He was the second-highest run-scorer. He scored 27 runs on just 15 deliveries with the help of three boundaries and one six and also remained not out till the chase of the target. Agha Salman scored 21 while Ben Dunk had 22 runs to his name. The skipper, Sohail Akhtar could manage to score 14 runs.

Quetta Gladiators Previews

Quetta Gladiators started their campaign to season six of Pakistan Super League with a heavy loss against the defending champions, Karachi Kings. The batting order of Quetta Gladiators almost collapsed in the previous match. Except for Chris Gayle, no batsmen from their side could put some big runs on the board. They could manage to score just 121 runs and were all-out in 18.2 overs. Chris Gayle scored 39 runs. Quetta Gladiators tried Sarfraz Ahmed as an opener and this decision did not work for them. Ben Cutting also failed to give his best performance.
Faf du Plessis will be available for the selection. Gladiators played in the first match with three overseas players but now, they need to add extra strength in their batting order. Qais Ahmed failed to give his best performance in the first match and he leaked runs whenever he came to bowl. Mohammad Hasnain showed some strength in bowling but others almost failed. Usman Shinwari and Naseem Shah need to improve their performance.
